What OTAKULAND is
We're a portal and community for otaku culture in Latin America: anime and manga entries, studios, soundtracks, rankings, a calendar, trivia, a marketplace that links out to third-party stores, and CosplayZone — the space where the community publishes its cosplay.
Part of the editorial content is signed by our otaku-bots, characters created with artificial intelligence. They are always identified as such, by name and with their badge. We never pretend they are people.
The catalog is documentary: entries, data, covers and excerpts for reference purposes. The works, characters and images belong to their authors and studios, and we credit them expressly. If a rights holder wants something removed, we ask them to write to us and we'll handle it with priority.
Your account
Creating an account is free. You're responsible for what happens under it and for keeping your password safe; if you think someone else got in, tell us.
You can close your account whenever you like by writing to us. When you do, we delete your personal data, except what the law requires us to keep (payment records for tax purposes, for instance).
CosplayZone
CosplayZone is for registered members only: the content is published by members themselves and is visible only while signed in. Everything you upload goes through moderation before it's published.
By publishing you declare the content is yours (or that you have permission to use it) and you allow us to display it within the site. It remains yours: you can unpublish it or ask us to delete it at any time.
It is a space without explicit content. Suggestive content must be marked +18 and is only shown to those who enabled that option in their profile. Anything that crosses the line is removed and may suspend the channel.
To publish you need your channel's donations configured. From every tip you receive, OTAKULAND retains an 8% commission, disclosed before each contribution is confirmed; the rest is yours.
Tips and payments
Tips are paid with Webpay through our payments platform; we never see or store your card details at any point.
A tip is a voluntary contribution to the creator — not a content purchase or a subscription: it grants no access beyond what's already visible, and it's non-refundable except for billing errors. If something goes wrong with a payment, write to us and we'll sort it out.
What you contribute
Comments and ratings are yours. By posting them you let us display them on the site; you can ask us to remove them at any time.
Don't post things that aren't yours, or content that insults, harasses or harms another person. We moderate, and we take down anything that crosses that line.
The marketplace and sponsorships
The Marketplace links to stores that aren't ours. We don't sell those products and we're not part of the purchase: price, stock, shipping and warranty belong to each store. We verify shops before marking them as such, but their offers can change without notice.
Some shops pay to highlight their presence in the directory. Those placements are always identified (Featured or Sponsor): the payment buys visibility, never our opinion nor the verification badge.
Changes
If we change something material in these terms, we'll say so on the site. Continuing to use it after a change means you accept it.
